ANTH 320 One Health (4)
The unifying biocultural approach known as One Health examines interconnections between the health of humans, animals and the environment at local, regional and global scales. Students learn how anthropologists employ One Health in international studies of biocultural diversity where ecosystems influence spiritual beliefs, identities and social and subsistence practices, and where these beliefs and practices help maintain ecosystems, and particular flora, fauna and soils. Through research projects and fieldwork, students consider how One-Health efforts to balance and optimize the health of animals, humans and the environment, also articulate with Anthropological approaches to Environmental and Social Justice.
