This course examines eighteenth- and nineteenth-century philosophies of race in the context of the political history of empire as well as twentieth-century post-colonial challenges to those philosophies and practices. Open only to juniors and seniors. Prerequisite: POLS 238 or POLS 260 or POLS 371 or POLS 373.
